Who is the new product available to?
Binance has launched options trading on more than 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs for eligible users outside the United States. The move is the latest sign that crypto-focused platforms are racing to offer traditional financial products to a broader audience.
The options will be offered through brokerage firm Nest Trading in Abu Dhabi. Order transmission, execution, clearing, settlement and custody will be handled by Alpaca Securities, a U.S.-registered firm.
The new product builds on Binance’s existing access to more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, expanding the platform’s lineup beyond crypto assets into classic capital market instruments.
What does a physically settled structure mean?
Unlike stock-linked perpetual futures, these options are physically settled. In other words, when an investor exercises the option, the underlying shares are either delivered or received.
How does rising trading volume support the strategy?
The company ties the expansion to growing demand for traditional finance products on its platform. According to Binance data, TradFi perpetual futures volume reached $433 billion in August, about 15 times the total in January.
- Existing securities access: more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs
- New options coverage: more than 1,000 stocks and ETFs
The picture shows crypto exchanges trying to do more than serve as digital asset trading venues, while also increasing their share of traditional investment products.
How far has competition in tokenized equities gone?
According to RWA.xyz data, the total value of the on-chain stock market has risen to around $2.6 billion. That marks a sharp increase from roughly $346 million in the same period last year.
The same dataset shows monthly transfer volume jumped 93% in the past 30 days to $25.1 billion. The number of investors also rose 157% to about 2.5 million.
What steps have rival platforms taken?
Last week, Coinbase moved its tokenized stock products under the name B20 onto the Base network, giving eligible users outside the U.S. 24/7 access to on-chain versions of companies including Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet. Kraken opened more than 7,000 U.S.-listed stocks to eligible European clients in August. Robinhood also announced next-generation stock tokens in July, alongside Robinhood Chain, for eligible users in more than 120 countries.
