Yamal leads Spain to a convincing win

Spain made it two wins from two in UEFA Nations League Group A3 with a 4-1 home victory over Croatia. The result in Seville also extended the reigning world champions' record 40-match unbeaten run against European opposition.

The standout performer of the night was Lamine Yamal. The youngster scored twice as Spain carried the momentum from their 3-2 win over England at Wembley into their first home match.

In Spain's first home match since winning the World Cup in July, Rodri displayed the trophy to fans on the pitch before kickoff. The hosts went ahead in the second minute when Yamal fired into the far corner after Fermin Lopez left Alex Baena's delivery in the box untouched.

Dominik Livakovic kept out another Baena attempt for Croatia, but the visitors levelled in the 28th minute through Dion Beljo's header.

Spain took control again

The equaliser did not last long. Spain were back in front three minutes later when Yamal delivered a cross from the right flank into the six-yard box for Marc Pubill to head home.

The gap widened in the second half. Yamal made it 3-1 in the 63rd minute, taking Pedri's pass inside the area and finishing from a tight angle, before substitute Nico Williams sealed the result in the 89th minute.
