RWA.xyz data points to faster growth in August

Activity in the tokenized stock market rose sharply over the past 30 days. According to RWA.xyz data, monthly transfer volume climbed by more than 415% to $29.5 billion. Over the same period, the number of monthly active addresses rose by more than 209% to about 1.3 million, while the number of investors holding tokenized stocks increased 167% to 2.36 million.

The total value of tokenized shares distributed on-chain also increased 1.45% over the past 30 days to $2.54 billion. That figure points to growth of roughly 637% compared with $344 million a year earlier. The data show that the rise in transaction pace became especially visible in August.

The market's weight is concentrated in a few products and platforms

Among individual products, Securitize Corp. was the largest tokenized stock tracked by RWA.xyz, with a market value of about $163 million. It was followed by Strategy PP Variable xStock at $136 million and Ondo's tokenized Circle Internet Group product at $109 million.

  • Ondo ranked first at the platform level with $842.8 million in distributed value.
  • Kraken's xStocks product was measured at $609.3 million, while Binance's bStocks product stood at $599.9 million.

The combined share of these three platforms was calculated at about 81%. The data suggest that liquidity and investor interest in the market are still concentrated in a relatively small group of major players.

New products are broadening the use of on-chain stocks

Behind the rising trading volume are new products from crypto platforms that go beyond simply buying and selling tokenized shares. Coinbase launched tokenized U.S. stocks on the Base network on Aug. 24. As a result, eligible users outside the U.S. can buy and sell these assets around the clock and use them in decentralized finance applications. The tokens in the B20 lineup include companies such as Nvidia, Apple, Meta and Alphabet, and these assets can also be held in personal wallets.

A day later, Bitwise announced automated portfolios built on Coinbase's tokenized stocks. The first portfolios focused on the Magnificent Seven, robotics and artificial intelligence themes. In July, Bybit added tokenized shares of several U.S. companies, including Nvidia, Apple and Tesla, as collateral for margin loans, while Robinhood-backed DEX Arcus launched more than 95 stock tokens and a perpetuals market on Robinhood Chain.
