RWA volume on Stellar grows rapidly

Tokenized real-world assets traded on Stellar have surged sharply since the start of the year. According to Dune Analytics data tracked by Stellar, their market value rose from $868.8 million at the end of last year to $3.996 billion as of Aug. 29. That points to a gain of roughly 360% since the start of 2026.

The market’s growth has been concentrated around a few major issuers. As of Aug. 27, Spiko held the largest share, followed by Realiz, Tradable, Franklin Templeton and Ondo.

  • Spiko: $1.55 billion
  • Realiz: $559 million
  • Tradable: $548 million
  • Franklin Templeton: $546 million
  • Ondo: $535 million

Institutional moves and asset diversification fueled growth

Stellar has gained particular traction in non-U.S. government debt instruments. Based on data from RWA.xyz cited by the Stellar Development Foundation, the network held about $490 million of this asset class as of Aug. 20. That figure included tokenized Mexican CETES and Brazilian government bonds issued via Etherfuse.

Which areas could new integrations open up?

In May, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced plans to connect its tokenization service to Stellar. Tokenized assets from DTC are expected to become accessible on the network in the first half of 2027. The integration could eventually support tokenized U.S. Treasury securities, major index ETFs and Russell 1000 stocks.

In July, Tradable announced plans to move up to $1 billion in private credit assets onto Stellar. The company said the move, designed for compliance processes, investor onboarding and asset lifecycle management, builds on its existing $1.7 billion private credit portfolio tokenized across about 30 positions.

XLM slips as stablecoin volume expands

Despite the growth in the RWA market, Stellar’s native token, XLM, did not rally over the same period. According to CoinGecko data, XLM has fallen by about 11% since the start of the year and was trading around $0.18.

Stellar’s use in digital payments also expanded. MoneyGram launched its MGUSD dollar stablecoin on the network in June. Dune data show that, together with MGUSD, the size of reserve-backed stablecoins on Stellar reached about $438 million.
